Christine Ortner, DVM

Dr. Christine Ortner started Cascade Summit Animal Hospital in 2003 with a commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate veterinary care to the West Linn community. She has extensive experience in internal medicine, general surgery, and emergency medicine.
Dr. Ortner is passionate about preventive care and client education. Her professional goal is to support healthy, happy, pain-free longevity for pets, allowing them to enjoy the best possible quality of life at every stage.
Lauren Davis, DVM

Dr. Lauren Davis offers a wide range of natural and holistic healing options for dogs and cats, including acupuncture, homeopathy, orthopedic manipulation, osteopathy, Chinese and Western herbs, flower essences, Reiki, and nutraceuticals. After receiving her DVM from Colorado State University in 1997, she acquired certification in veterinary acupuncture, veterinary homeopathy, veterinary orthopedic manipulation (a gentle form of spine and limb adjustment using a hand-held instrument), and Reiki. A clinical apprenticeship provided study in Chinese herbs.
She has helped animals with a diverse array of conditions, including arthritis, Cushing’s disease, intervertebral disc disease, allergies, seizures, inflammatory bowel disease, cancer, and behavior issues. Having a longtime love for the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Davis moved to Oregon in 1998 and shares her home with two beautiful cats.
McKenna Martindale, DVM
Dr. Martindale is an Oregon native who graduated from Oregon State University with her veterinary degree in 2016. Her professional interests include dermatology, preventive medicine, internal medicine, and geriatric care. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association (AVMA) and the Portland Veterinary Medicine Association (PVMA).
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter on their small hobby farm. She enjoys gardening, hiking, reading, and traveling.
Laura Liu, DVM
Dr. Laura is a Portland native who graduated from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She has worked in small animal general practice, mobile euthanasia, and even owned a mobile veterinary acupuncture practice for a few years. Her passions are preventative medicine, internal medicine, and dentistry. She believes that pet owners know their pet best, so she seeks to provide them with all options so that they can make informed decisions about their pet’s care. She also believes that the vet clinic should be a positive experience for all pets and tries to personalize each visit to make pets feel as comfortable as possible.
Dr. Laura lives with her husband, three young sons, and two dogs in West Linn. She enjoys competitive powerlifting, is a major foodie, and loves spending as much time outdoors as possible.
Laura Ball, DVM
Dr. Ball earned her BA in Environmental Science from Northwestern University in 2000. After working as an environmental scientist, she realized her true calling was veterinary medicine. She returned to school and finished her DVM from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2008. Dr. Ball relocated to the Pacific Northwest after graduation and has practiced as a small animal veterinarian in Washington and Oregon ever since. Dr. Ball loves the variety of cases she gets to see in general practice. She is dedicated to building relationships with clients and providing care to her patients throughout all life stages. She enjoys client education and strives to ensure clients are well informed and involved in all decisions regarding their pet’s care. Dr. Ball lives in Portland with her husband and son. When she isn’t working, Dr. Ball enjoys hiking, bird watching, gardening, and finding new restaurants.
Julie Miller, DVM
A graduate of UC Davis veterinary school, Dr. Miller cared for the pet families of the Bay Area for over 20 years. Now a happy transplant to the PNW, she is excited to join the wonderful team at Cascade Summit, and to provide compassionate care to the pets of the local community. She has special interest in preventative medicine, orthopedics and an integrative approach to caring for the wellbeing of the animals in her care.
She is an active member of the Portland Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) and the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS).
When not working, she is often found out horseback riding, making jewelry, walking her dogs Anna (standard poodle) and Bodhi (large poodle mix), as well as spending time with her husband and teenage son.
Kellie Kietzman, DVM
Dr. Kellie Kietzman grew up in Southern California. She spent many summers on her grandparents’ ranch surrounded by horses, cattle, and all sorts of critters! This is what first sparked her love of animals.
After earning her Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from California State Polytechnic University Pomona, she was accepted into vet school. In 2010, Kellie and her husband moved to Oregon to start her rigorous veterinary medical school training, and they fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. In 2014, she completed her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) through Oregon State University.
Since graduating in 2014, Dr. Kietzman has worked in a combination of General Practice and Emergency / ICU medicine. She enjoys supporting the human-animal bond between clients and patients, as well as taking a collaborative approach with clients so they are as informed and involved in their pet’s care as they want to be. Her special interests include feline internal medicine, integrative therapies, emergency care, and pain management. She is currently working towards a certification in integrative rehabilitation and physical medicine.
In 2016, Dr. Kietzman completed her certification in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture (cVMA) through CuraCore Veterinary Academy. CuraCore offers a scientifically based, evidence-informed program in veterinary acupuncture. Dr. Kietzman enjoys incorporating acupuncture into clinical practice, especially as part of a multimodal pain management plan for senior pets / palliative care.
In 2023, she earned her certification as a Fear Free veterinary professional. As a Fear Free professional, Dr. Kietzman knows the impact that fear, anxiety, and stress can have on our patients and is committed to reducing those feelings, which in turn results in a better experience for all involved.
Dr. Kietzman lives in West Linn with her husband and two young boys. She has a senior cat and a Golden Retriever. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, listening to podcasts, watching movies, and spending time outdoors with her family.
